Scope: Complete set of permit plans, design concept, construction drawings, finish and furniture selection, project management, and final styling. 

Cheeks & Co. is a facial and waxing spa located in historic Old Town Pasadena, Los Angeles. We were honored to take on this commercial project for their debut location, second one slated for 2023. The space is a former travel bookstore with a long, narrow footprint and little more than 1100 square feet, complete with a cloud mural on the ceiling reminiscent of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Our first challenge was to address the ceiling while utilizing the existing lighting plan. We brought the walls down to the studs in order to reconfigure the space and maximize its potential. We created six semi-private treatment rooms, a welcoming reception area with high-visibility retail, and an Instagrammable vanity area for clients to show off their skin. We updated the existing bathroom and added a break room for employees. In addition to the burgundy, sky blue and nude color palette, we used metallic accents throughout, including a custom mosaic tile reception desk inspired by Karl Springer.
