Scope: Design concept, furniture selection, lighting, and styling

This project was a 2,505 sq. ft contemporary style new build located just off historic Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, Los Angeles. Our scope of work included furniture and lighting selection for the kitchen, living, dining, home office, 2 guest bedrooms, primary bedroom, back yard, and the 1,000 square foot roof deck.  Our client was a young entrepreneur from South Africa who decided to commit more time to LA for business. Since he travels almost non-stop, our design team worked with him remotely to create a turn-key space he could return to and immediately relax in. His family owns one of the largest wildlife safari camps in South Africa, so our design concept started with Safari-inspired furniture and color palette with a masculine, California influence. Quality and craftsmanship were of the utmost importance to our client, so we drew on a few classic designs sourced almost exclusively from local Los Angeles furniture makers.  We added in modern lighting, vintage pieces, touches of patinated metals, concrete, and antique rugs in every room.
